  • Scorned Voters

    ...take no prisoners.

When you make a big mistake the last thing you want is for the person who warned you to show up and say, I told you so. It has the fingers on the chalkboard effect ~~ totally unnerving. Being cognizant of that reality, I will refrain from making such a remark.

In my last post, My C-Span Must Be Broken , I highlighted two videos that exemplify the audacity of politicians to not only make repetitive promises which they base their platform on, but to show contempt and scorn for those who expect them to make good on their word.

In the first video, Candidate Obama made the health care reform debate on C-span a regular part of his stump speech. He used this as an example of the change that was coming to Washington if he was elected.  These were to be the demands he was going to place on Congress. No more back room deals, it will all be in the open for all to see. I think most would have settled for it being open for all of Congress to see and participate in. The voters gave him the oval office and a majority in Congress to work with to accomplish the promise. But where has President Obama been? Does he lack the intestinal fortitude to actually be the leader he pledged he would be? Does he feel no duty to perform on his promises? Does he lack power in his own party? Or is he a congenital liar?

I also suggest watching the second video with Speaker Pelosi and Chairman Charles Rangel without the audio and just observe their facial expressions and body language. The attitude that this Congressional leadership has toward the american voter who had the audacity to believe, or hope that they were being honest with them is appalling. Perhaps their scorn toward the voter and the constitution is because they believe the people are idiots for taking them at their word and that they are actually subjected to the law.

As I watched this last video, the words of William Congreve in The mourning bride, come to mind :

As you'll answer it, take heed
This Slave commit no Violence upon
Himself. I've been deceiv'd. The Publick Safety
Requires he should be more confin'd; and none,
No not the Princes self, permitted to
Confer with him. I'll quit you to the King.
Vile and ingrate! too late thou shalt repent
The base Injustice thou hast done my Love:
Yes, thou shalt know, spite of thy past Distress,
    And all those Ills which thou so long hast mourn'd;
Heav'n has no Rage, like Love to Hatred turn'd,
Nor Hell a Fury, like a Woman scorn'd.

I believe there will be something that rivals the rage and fury that Congrave wrote about in 1697; the American Voter on November 2, 2010.

    Great video.

It will be interesting to see what happens next week with Scott Brown in MA.  I have a coworker whose family are democrats and they are furious about what is going on.  I pray the election of Scott Brown makes a big statement.

Praying for Scott Brown!  Thank you again for your insightful posts!

    That's really well done!

Democrats need to learn the fury of scorned voters well.

    Well put!

Many people are fed up with the government.  I'm praying that it's enough to turn things around in Congress this year.

@dropsofjupiterihh - Are they furious about the democrats? Or that a Republican is running for "Teddy's seat"?

Very well put together video!  Unfortunately I think next week in MA will be the litmus test.  If Brown wins in such a Democrat Saturated area.. then you'd think it would project a much bigger event for the rest of the country.

And yet..Obama sets plans to control the vote.  Intimidation, census tampering, district tampering, SEIU and ACORN involvement in voter fraud.   And if all else fails, violation of the Posse comatatus act, suspension of voting, and military law.  It is even rumored that if Brown would win, and upset the filibuster proof Senate, the democrats will refuse to seat him until after they've done their damage with health care, cap and tax, card check, etc.

@dropsofjupiterihh - @toomanyhats - @SirDoc -  that Brown even has a candle in the wind is a very large statement. I believe the fact that he is even in the race has the democrats unsettled.

If there is any crap in the race, and if Brown is ahead, a dime to a dollar there is, the democrats again are the emporer with no clothes. They aren't fooling anyone and many of them have even quit trying. The MASS secretary of state has a  ballot irregularity history with overseas ballots. Most likely why they are the secretary of state.

I was glad Brown crammed the Teddy's seat bs down their throat. That said, there is a psychological safeguarding to not allow your hopes to rest on the outcome, but rather that we do everything to help him win.

@ProvokingThought - I mentioned SEIU in my last comment.  Today it was released that SEIU sent almost a million dollars to prop up the democrat.   You could buy a lot of tv ads with that but might not sway many opinions at this late date.  But you can sure pay for a lot of thuggery, intimidation, falsified votes.. etc.   I too liked the comment brown made about it not being Teddy's or the Democrats seat.  That was priceless.
