We must work to repeal the Patriot Act THIS YEAR
Those who trade safety for freedom deserve neither
What is chilling is that there was no debate on the floor of the house. They had people where they wanted them and were not about to let a crisis pass without maximizing their advantage. So those of you who think merely changing the party in DC will make a difference....you better start to take stock of what happens when you do not hold your elected representatives feet to the fire.
Freedom is not for the lazy and the predator will stalk those who are and take it from them. Those of you who voted for a party believing they would act in your best interest should have figured out by now, it just hasn't worked out too well, has it?

Thanks for not being lazy. I like the Judge. We need more of him.
With great freedoms come great risks. Both I'm willing to fight for!
What's really irritating is that all the liberals and progressives who are not in Congress and spent so much energy and time decrying the patriot act for so long shut up so completely about it once they got our current regime in power.
For once I'd actually think that everyone would be in agreement. But apparently the Left was only bothered by the Patriot Act because it was something Bush signed
People need to wake up before it's too late.
time to destroy the 2 party system???
The Patriot Act was necessary when enacted because it sent a clear message to our enemies about the American will to engage and defeat them.
Regrettably, it was not followed by acts or ideologies that would engage and defeat them.
Hence, it is, indeed time to repeal the Patriot Act.
@SwordAndSacrifice - I agree with the conclusion and I agree we had to have a demarcation line drawn at the time to show we were serious.
@PreciousOnyx - all politics is local has more to it that you realize. Seeing the two party systems as a solution to anything is the very definitoon of insanity, though there are apologists for it on every corner.
This is one peaceful way to take back the political parties ...Myself, I don't see 2 political parties being able to represent all the people. I believe coalition governments have some real advantages, even if it is not getting a lot accomplished on a federal level.
Check out this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M9hCN0rbtwY
@mrcolorful - there is rank hypocrisy on both sides of the aisle Tim
@firetyger - the politics are difvisional, not uniting and that is intentful. If people were united politicians would be in deep crap.
@alampi - amen
@mcbery - he stood when it was unpopular to say what he is saying.
@ProvokingThought - Agree with the video. There are constitutionalists running. There are members of the Constitution Party. And I will disagree vehemently that we needed the (un)Patriot Act. That was a GIANT leap of usurping the constitution!
@ProvokingThought - That is true. I hate the hypocrisy but I am more frustrated on this issue with the people who opposed this act until Obama & Co were put in charge.
@alampi - Just to clarify, if you re-read my response above, I do not condone or confirm that the patriot act was a good thing. Right now I am more concerned about building a coalition to get rid of it. We agree on your premise for the same reason.
@ProvokingThought - Sorry my comment seemed directed at you. It wasn't meant to be! I was actually disagreeing with an earlier comment from someone else supporting it, but neglected to do 2 replies.
