A prayer for a friend who is going through pain today
Dear Lord,
I have a friend in need of your comfort today. You have brought people into my life that I may never physically cross their path, but have given me a burden to be their friend and to share in common interests, celebrate with them in their success and empathize with them in their pain and sorrow... Sometimes this places me in a situation that I do not know what to say to bring comfort to them or know there is really nothing I can say at all. So today I give you that burden and ask You to intercede.
Lord, I know in my own life , You have given me peace that I do not understand and given me calm in the midst of severe battles. Today, a friend is reliving a loss of her own flesh and blood. I ask you give her the same peace and the same hope during her very real pain and sorrow.
While a cyberhug may bring a smile and a short relief, I pray You give her the comfort of knowing she is in Your arms and that you love her.

Scripture says wherever two or more are gathered in Christ's name he will be present. I am not a theological expert but I am certain that goes for those praying together online as well. In that Spirit, I add my voice to this prayer ... in Jesus' name.
