• Biden Spills National Security Secret at Gridiron Club Dinner

  Obama Sends Loose Lips Biden To Press Dinner -What Was He Thinking?  (updated-video added))

   

  Team Obama sent in the second team to handle something he didn't feel like doing-going to the Gridiron Club dinner. Seems innocent enough, Obama didn't want to go to a dinner so sent in Joe "a heartbeat away from the oval office" Biden in instead.

  Now if you remember back to the campaign, the one continual quality I pounded Obama for was his poor judgement. Well, this is just another case of poor judgement. First, what is the Gridiron Club dinner anyway? It is a "hob-nob dinner" with  major newspapers, news wires, news magazines and the broadcast networks. I have to be honest, I am not a real fan of these affairs myself and if the reason Obama did not attend was to send a message that he was not happy with the closeness of the press and the President I would be very supportive of this. Or if he just said, I think it is a tradion that should end, ok with me.

  But what does he do instead? He sent Joe "let me impress them with my insider information" Biden, known for his unpredictable remarks.  Remember Joe Biden,  the man who lied about his wife and daughter being killed by a drunk driver for a sympathy vote. Now one must remember this is the same Joe Biden that Mike Dukakis's campaign manager John Sasso and Paul Tulley exposed for "delivering, without attribution, passages from a speech by British Labor party leader Neil Kinnock... , a serious plagiarism incident involving Biden during his law school years; the senator's boastful exaggerations of his academic record at a New Hampshire campaign event; and the discovery of other quotations in Biden's speeches pilfered from past Democratic politician" 1

  Biden tops himself in 2008 Campaign but gets big pass

   

  Not to be outdone by his 1988 gaffes, during the debate, Biden who chaired the Senate foreign relations committee claimed France and the US kicked Hezbollah out of Lebanon (2). When? Never happened and Biden got a pass. People expected Sarah "OMG she is a heartbeat from the Oval office" Palin to make a gaffe like this-but this was Joe "chair of the foreign relations committee-now a heartbeat from the oval office" Biden.

  Then Joe tries to take Governor Palin to task for her lack of understanding of constitutional law and the lack of knowledge for the office she seeks. But in his condescending tone, "Biden said the vice president's only role is to support the president and to preside over the Senate "only in a time when in fact there's a tie vote. The Constitution is explicit."  As the Washinton Times reports, "The Constitution, though, actually says the vice president is always president of the Senate and legal scholars say he has the right to preside at any time. Early vice presidents, such as Thomas Jefferson, actively exercised that role" (3)

  Biden also misstated that Article 1 defines the excutive powers. No Joe, that would be Article 2 Joe.  30 years in the Senate........

  And who can forget the Katie Couric interview? "Part of what being a leader does is to instill confidence is to demonstrate what he or she knows what they are talking about and to communicating to people ... this is how we can fix this," Biden said. "When the stock market crashed, Franklin Roosevelt got on the television and didn't just talk about the princes of greed. He said, 'look, here's what happened.'" 4 Never mind that FDR wasn't president at the time and that there was no broadcast television then . Katie never held him to account (Did she even know or was she baffled with BS?)

  Biden said , “Drill we must.” But he has opposed offshore drilling and even compared offshore drilling to “raping” the Outer Continental Shelf.” 5  Biden says he’s always been for clean coal, but he just told a voter that he is against clean coal and any new coal plants in America and has a record of voting against clean coal and coal in the U.S. Senate. 6

  Who can forget the "I can give you at least four or five scenarios from where it might originate," Biden said to Emerald City supporters, mentioning the Middle East and Russia as possibilities. "And he's gonna need help. And the kind of help he's gonna need is, he's gonna need you - not financially to help him - we're gonna need you to use your influence, your influence within the community, to stand with him. Because it's not gonna be apparent initially, it's not gonna be apparent that we're right." 7
  
  

  Barack should have known better

  Well Barack should have known better and known that Joe is also looking to raise the bar a notch higher. When he was nominated what did news people say about Joe? " He's a bit of a windbag"  8 

  Biden will not disappoint

  We all know Biden's pre-occupation with being shot at , (Biden Claim of Being .flv(9), and it finally just got the best of him at the Gridiron Dinner. Like the adolescent who just can't contain himself with knowing something that you don't,  both Fox News and Eleanor Clift, Newsweek magazine's Washington contributing editor,  reported that Biden revealed the location of his secret underground bunker in case of attack, while filling in for Obama at the dinner, who, along with Grover Cleveland, is the only president to skip the gathering.(10)

  "According to the report, Biden "said a young naval officer giving him a tour of the residence showed him the hideaway, which is behind a massive steel door secured by an elaborate lock with a narrow connecting hallway lined with shelves filled with communications equipment."   "Joe Biden, well-known for his verbal gaffes, may have finally outdone himself, divulging potentially classified information meant to save the life of a sitting vice president."11
